April 1, 2008The Almost Green Cobra Boy…?
I showed this to my friend today:
The Almost Green Cobra Boy…? Aaron Gillespie, Billie-Joe Armstrong, Gabe Saporta, and Patrick Stump have announced that they will be recording a 5-song album as a barbershop quartet sometime in late September. The four punk rockers had toyed with the idea for about a year, but never really gotten serious about it.
All songs on the short album will be covers of the Almost, Green Day, Cobra, and FOB songs—only a little different. The foursome refuses to reveal any of the songs they will be covering. “We want it to be a surprise,” says Gillespie. The songs will be recorded in September, after the madness of Warped Tour, and the disk should be released soon after. “I’m not really sure what the public will think of this,” Stump tells AbsolutePunk. “I mean, I hope they will like it. We’ve got some pretty good ideas up our sleeves.” (As for his trip to Antarctica, the forecast is looking good. “Pete really wants to get his picture with a penguin,” Stump laughs. “I think he’ll be really heartbroken if he doesn’t.) What are your thoughts on this interesting group? Discuss in the comments below! teehee--April Fools!
